Building on their success the previous weekend at the athletics, the team led by Flight Sergeant Elliot Waters competed against units from across the Hertforshire and Buckinghamshire area in various military skills including shooting, navigation, and command tasks culminating in an obstacle course this May Day bank holiday.

Lying fourth on entering the final day of the three day competition, the team needed to break the squadron record time of 3 minutes 23 seconds to climb into third spot, but an unfortunate accident on the obstacle course wall meant they incurred a 2 minute penalty, finishing with a time of 5 minutes 31 seconds. however the team remained in bouyant spirit.

They also won the mens relay event which had eluded them on previous years.

The overall team finished 4th from the 30 teams competing after fine performances across the board from both the junior female and junior males teams.
Weather Closes Bletchley Park - January 2010

Unfortunately Bletchley Park closed to the public due to the road conditions and safety concerns both on site and in the central Bletchley area.

With up to a foot of laying snow within the park access is very limited and the regretable decision to close the squadron was taken by the squadron commanding officer on Wednesday 6th January. The snow was cleared from the surronding area of the squadron by CI Douglas and the CO, on Tuesday 12th allowing the Squadron to re-open on the Wednesday as normal..

2366 Squadron in Wing Marching Team

Article by Cdt Cpl Henry Wisdom 1066 Squadron

<img src='/uploads/news/marchingteam1.jpg' class='left' border='0' alt='' onload="JavaScript:if(this.width>300) this.width=300" />Twenty-six cadets from across Herts and Bucks Wing decided they didn’t want to spend their weekend like any other normal teenagers but instead chose to march a blistering 40 miles over two days in about 16 hours of marching time as part of the Wing Marching Team.

The cadets arrived at RAF Halton on Friday the 10th of April so they could leave at 0800 the next day. The first day consisted of a seemingly relentless trek along canal towpaths before having to slog their way up, down and all around the harsh hills of the Chiltern area.

The second day brought an incredibly cruel hill for aching feet first thing in the morning. Closely followed by some more mud, fields and many more canals before the day was done.
The 26 cadets from all over Herts & Bucks Wing conquered the course in excellent time with no drop outs.
.
Senior Wing Staff Officer, Squadron Leader Steve Atkinson, said: "This was a really enjoyable route and the effort put in by the cadets from all squadrons which attended was excellent. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part, in particular the staff who enabled it all to happen."
.
The following Squadrons had cadets attending this event: 220 (St Albans) Sqn, 248 (Letchworth Garden City) Sqn, 936 (Hertford & Ware) Sqn, 1066 (Hitchin) Sqn, 1113 (Berkhamsted) Sqn, 1166 (Welwyn Garden City) Sqn, 1187 (Hemel Hempstead) Sqn, 1280 (Rickmansworth) Sqn, 1811 (Marlow) Sqn, 2366 (Bletchley Park) Sqn, 2384 (South Oxhey) Sqn & 2457 (Tring) Sqn.
.
The next event on the calendar is the RAF 2-day March at Cosford.
Included in the group were seven cadets from 1066 (Hitchin) Squadron, and after completing the march they are looking for bigger fish to fry. All seven of them looking to conquer the 50 mile Cosford march coming up on the 25th and 26th of April.
